Knows basic tasks, but that is it I have had two basic items done by Southwest Motor Vehicle Center. The owner is willing to speak poorly of Academy Driving on Broadway west of Swan.
I stopped into Southwest Motor Vehicle Center on Monday because I need to renew my registration, and could not do it online. I have personalized plates. I wanted to keep the personalization, but change the plate.
The girl at the window did not know what to do. She asked someone named Janelle who suggested that perhaps my record was blocked. Nope. Then she suggested that my registration was already expired. Nope.
Then she defaulted to some cockamamy story about 8-10 weeks, and I could not keep the personalization but change the plates.
Being the stubborn person I am, I decided to go to MVD. I went in on a Tuesday afternoon after 4pm, and found NO WAIT.
The woman behind the counter was somewhat certain it could be done, but was not 100% certain of how to do it. She spoke with a colleague, and then phoned someone who told her exactly it is done.
Moral of the story: If you need something basic, then Southwest Motor Vehicle Center "might" be an alternative. If you need something a bit more complex, go to the MVD where the real experts work-*+-
