Hyatt Hotels Corporation is entering into a multi-million dollar commitment to wellness with the announced acquisition of Miraval Group, a New York-based spa and wellness company. The deal, officially completed today, includes the recently acquired 100,000 square feet Hyatt Arizona Hotel in Tucson, Arizona, and a property in Dana Point, California, where the Miraval Life Balance Spa brand has a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of its guests.
Construction at the Tucson resort is ongoing and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2017. The company has already pledged $1.5 million in cash that Miraval officials plan to purchase once the Hyatt deal is complete, including the purchase of 100,000 square feet of space in Dana Point, Calif.
The property is owned by Zenith Asset Company and managed by Miraval, a subsidiary of Hyatt Hotels Group, the world's largest hotel chain. It has a casino and four on-site restaurants. The Silverbell Golf Course is just a 15-minute drive from the hotel and 19 km away. The Tucson Museum of Art and Rialto Theater are also nearby, and within a five-minute walk guests will have the opportunity to visit the magnificent Tucson Convention Center.
